Meet Our Provider, William Betts

William Betts, PMHNP-BC is the founder of Betts Psychiatric PC and a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 15 years of experience in mental health care. He earned his nursing degree from Umpqua Community College and completed his master's degree at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). William is passionate about breaking the stigma surrounding mental illness and helping individuals achieve meaningful recovery through compassionate, evidence-based care.

William provides treatment for adults ages 18 and older, utilizing a comprehensive approach that integrates psychotherapy, lifestyle and relational interventions, and medication management when appropriate. His clinical experience spans a wide range of settings, including inpatient psychiatry, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient programs, detoxification units, and long-term residential treatment. In addition to his clinical work, he has precepted over 20 PMHNP students and regularly speaks to community groups to promote mental health awareness.

In 2016, William served as the sole psychiatric provider on a medical mission to Jordan, working with Syrian refugees affected by trauma and displacement - an experience that deeply shaped his perspective and practice. Raised in Idaho's Magic Valley, William has returned to Twin Falls to be close to family. He has been married for over 30 years, is a father of three adult children, a proud grandfather, and enjoys faith-based community involvement and outdoor activities.
